We begin our math WIN (What I Need) classes and students will be rotating to other teachers to either review previously taught materials, or enrich their learning according to their individual needs. In our core math class we will be finishing up our introductory chapter of multiplication with a chapter test on Tuesday and then starting division introduction on Wednesday. We will take a break on Friday and do some monster math right before our Halloween party.
Thank you to the parents who signed up to bring snacks and drinks for our Halloween party on Friday. All parents are welcome to attend, party times are from 8:30-9:00.
In reading this week we will be working on the skill of inferring. We will be reading a couple passages from our basal reader as well as a few trade books to really look at how to use what we already know, what the author shares in the story to make conclusions about the text. On Friday we will be reading short passages and using our inferencing skills to assess our growth.
In language this week we will learn about abstract nouns and work on identifying them within sentences and using them in our writing. We will continue to learn about the government, specifically looking at the branches of the government and how they are to work together to strengthen our nation.
Hope you have a great week!
